Dealing with hijacked threads at the AETV site...

I recently started a thread on the AETV site that was hijacked. The way that I responded, and I was able to because it was me who started the thread, was by editing my discussion starter.

I was able to completely delete the message, and then I changed the title, which had to remain a minimum of three characters, to ...

Not long afterwards, I can only assume that it was removed by Rita, as without even a starter, what was even more obvious, was that it was just Kev et al talking rubbish.

Rita obviously doesn't mind Kev et al ruining the site for the rest of us, but when from her perspective, I ruined the thread (as a response), by removing the message, and making the title ... she clearly did not like it.

The reason that I mention this, is that I think that I have stumbled upon a form of resistance to what is going on there. If we all just do exactly the same as I did on threads that we have started, not just commented on but started ourselves, then two things should happen.

Firstly, she will not like it, and as she did with mine, probably pull the thread, that had already been ruined by the trolls. Secondly, if we all use exactly the same ... title and blank message tactic, she should suss that it is an organised response.

I suggest that we all look back over threads that we have started, and any that have been hijacked to the point where nothing useful has been said after the first message, just give them the ... title, blank message treatment.

The bottom line is that there are far more of us than of Team Kev, we are the ones who give them more advertising revenues etc, and if we are refusing to participate on hijacked threads, and do what we can to ruin them ourselves once they get hijacked, then even Rita might sit up and take notice.

I appreciate your concern and effort in trying to show an organized front on AETV, but I think the thing to do is walk away and not spend anymore time and effort on that site. Trolls generally either want to piss people off or get them to waste their time or both.

I'm sure Rita is just an uninterested third party moderator. So long as there's not any name-calling/etc, she doesn't know a reasonable EAR/ONS thread from a hole in the ground, and she's just maintaining board rules. If she was an interested party, I think she might take the hint you're suggesting, but as for her current state of action, its a long shot.

I, for one, would appreciate exclusivity of threads to one site or the other. I don't have time to read similar threads on both sites, especially if I need to dig thru the trolling on AETV.

I think we have a critical mass here now and we can continue to invite people. I know a few people are still missing, like arch, repoman, etc. but for me (a noob), I've been getting plenty of good feedback and discussion here.

Leave aetv. And if you raise a thread here don't even bother saying it was hijacked on aetv. It is a fruitless challenge. Just post and people will respond accordingly.

Sadly, a new board is being developed and we had several offer to put money into it to keep those that do not care about how victims and their families read the saddest of posts. You should be ashamed. Those who I am talking about WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THEMSELVES!!

I can think of very few that delighted in throwing true investigations off. This is often see on Fife's board. Remember this board allows you to speak about anything you like Thanks to JJ we were never fearful of retaliatory posters. It's a frightening place to be especially if you are not interested in all the damn conspiracy theories. We have had our ups and down but our focus was to agree to disagree and move on..Fife's board censors and allows his minions to do the dirty work with him lol


If Arch had never started a board not a one of us would be here. It is through his selflessness and true concern as a victim and family advocate. He seeks no praise but he deserves the respect of all people who found this case thorough his board. It was an act of LOVE.. Some humans just do these things because it's right.
