First of all, not being LE, what does the acronym mean? I read the report again, and then did some calculating. I didn't realize that the rapist was into the various "positions" of sex. Do you know if the sodomy and oral sex started later on, or was it in Sacto as well as Orange County? If he was into sodomy in Sacramento, I find that a bit bizarre, given his age at that time. Now-a-days, maybe not so bizarre, but in the '70's-'80's? Maybe I'm more naive than I realized Also, I'm quite surprised that ChargerT came on and started asking questions about VR right off. That's a first. Maybe we've got someone from the Central Valley of California on board! I sure do miss your posts.

VICAP is an automated criminal database. I do not know what the acronym actually stands for. It was started by the FBI and the goal was to put on it all violent crimes and criminals by certain categories so that if a new crime were committed, the police could have VICAP punch up a list of similar crimes and suspects. However VICAP is a pain to update so it is incomplete and hindered by the extremely decentralized nature of law enforcement in the USA. There is a profile available on this website of what was punched into VICAP for the DNA linked murders.
