DID ANYONE READ THE TIMES DELTA TODAY?
I AM NEW TO THIS BOARD AND HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED ABOUT WHY NO ONE EVER CAUGHT THE MAN THAT KILLED THE LETTERETTS FATHER. I GREW UP ON LAUREL LANE. SHE WAS ABOUT 5 YEARS YOUNGER THAN ME. I WAS ALSO IN THE BAND. IS THERE ANY NEW INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CASE?
PRETTY SCARRY AT THE TIME

unfortunately the article in the Visalia paper uses a PI who has little credibility as a source and his blatant misrepresentation of the case facts. It is great that the case is getting publicity, but how many suspects are ignored because they could not possibly have ocmmitted some of the crimes presented as being linked?

So, pioneer...you graduated in 1980 and lived on Laurel Lane. East of Mooney Blvd.? If so, you may have lived near one of my POIs. His name has been turned over to VPD, but alas...nothing.

Hi Dengas, How are things? Maybe it is time to move back to this board. It is much easier to navigate. Hope you are well. g

So much easier. All is well, but I'm really upset by the turn of events on the other board. I'm hoping that Archangel is still tuned in and working, but I'm losing hope that Visalia LE will ever catch the VR. Besides Archangel, I hope that ND and LFL will head over here. What a shame to start at the beginning again with VR-EAR-ONS and Goleta. I know that Connie has volunteered to cut/paste, but how many year's worth would he/she be willing to cut/paste? SUCH A shame.
JLove is credible, and Salazar/Diaz told him not to communicate with either Ista or me (way back when). I think it had to have been at least two years ago. J and I have emailed each other off the board. He is the one who gave the LK name, to which I added SM (LK's friend). LK lived on Laurel and SM lived on Meadow Lane, both in the first block east of Divisadero Street, or two blocks east of Mooney Blvd. Both still live in Visalia, and both were questioned by VPD.

Hi Dengas, Glad to hear all is well with you. If nothing else but for the sake of this case we all need to put our energy together and recreate the opportunities the other board provided. We may have different thoughts, beliefs and convictions about this case, but it must continue if there is to be hopes of solving this case. Personally, I have been deeply saddened by the loss of these communication that is vital to this investigation. I feel somehow I have let the victims down. There is some new information being released and I think we should read and study and gather what data we can around this time frame. I suggest we all pocket our pride, put the knowledge we all have to good use and go on doing what we have been doing! We could start a thread demanding they put the old board up when referring to VREARONS, what do you think? G

I think if we demanded the old board back, they'd simply laugh at us.
I've run across a couple of names, but don't want to post them here. Do you have Searcher1's email address? If so, would you email him and ask him to forward the email to me.
WE HAVEN'T let the victims down; we just need to take a deep breath and start once again. I'm just really upset, however, with the loss of posters who had personal knowledge of the various cases.

Dengas,
I do not have TS1's e-mail address. I will say to you, there are others of us who have intimate knowledge of the crimes. I would find nothing more exciting than to be able to have a decent conversation with those others with such knowledge. I would like to see a working board with productive conversations going on.
You can PM me if there is something off board you would like to discuss. G

If you haven't done so already, do a search on Original Night Stalker, and on East Area Rapist. There are some recent articles on there (December, 2009) that I was unaware of. In one, it is stated that the EAR may have started in Visalia.
I feel it is important to note that there are some who are actually SERIOUSLY considering this to be the case/it hasn't always been a consideration.
I think that we need to bring AE board here. ALSO, Portofleith, I went to the OLD AE board and tried to bring up a couple of links; they're gone gone gone. I'm going to cut/paste them here, if you would mind bringing them back. They may already be somewhere and I'm just not aware of where they are. If so, my apologies.

Hi dengas,
Are you referring to the 911 article in the Sac Bee recently. I believe Sac has felt for sometime that there is a connection to Visalia. I know I am convinced and know many others are as well.
I attempted to bring up some information from the old board as well and it appeared to be gone. I went back and tried again and found when I scrolled to the bottom of the page the thread was there as well. Try that and see if it works for you. I do agree, we need to transfer information from the A/E board onto another board whether it be this one or the other. We must pull all resources together and make this happen. One or two members cannot carry the load alone. G

Dengas, I'm still around, but since this and other boards have been poisoned like they have, there is no use in taking the verbal abuse from certain people. And I am not the only person that feels that way, I'm sorry, I will look, but contributing is a different thing.
I've been told a few things lately that make me think that there is no longer any real line of communication between posters. This case could have been solved years ago, so why wasn't it? Ask the people who have the jackets...

Ista, LFL, and I still communicate off the board, but as far as new information -- hardly anything new. I've found a couple of names of people who may have been witnesses to the VR -- way back in the 70s, however the one I contacted stood me up. I went to her house at an appointed time, but she didn't answer the door. I have reason to believe that LE had hacked into my computer and read her name, because when we set up the appointment, she told me that there had already been two LE officers to visit her and show her pictures.
I just find it strange that after 35 years, we (LE and I) find this woman in the same month.
Has it started raining yet?

There is no doubt that you were hacked, but I don't believe it was by LE, just someone who claims to be a "friend of them."
This has been going on as long as these discussions have. I have a name, well, about 20 different ones. And yes, this person bragged that we would not figure out what his screen name was on A&E. And he is registered on the new board right now.
There has been something new developed, but no one has carried the ball yet, their loss.
It's not raining right now, but a lot more is expected..

I always get my hopes up when I hear that something "new" has come to light. I swear, when I first came to the old AE board, and you, Ista, & LFL were so active, I thought the cases were so close to be solved. Now, I have to work hard to stay positive. I don't have friends in LE, so I have no idea (other than the little story about the GPS being found on LK's truck, and my being stood up by the Blue Chip Stamp Redemption Clerk) if Visalia is really doing anything.
Recently I heard about someone seeing a white on brown Cadillac on 9/10/75, around 10:30 p.m. in the Snelling neighborhood. The guy was acting suspicious, carrying what appeared to be a shoe box. The couple said he was around 6' tall, thin, late 20s. My thinking is that this guy must have been driving his "daddy's" car. Who, in their right mind, would have been in their late 20s in 1975 -- in a early 70s Cadillac?

Yep, this guy could be the next Tommie Lynn Sells. The hangup is that he has been locked up at various times, but not as long as I said.
Wallace 's body was not located for 18 years, but how much of that time was he locked up? and was he in Colorado after that? Thinking Rundle?? But that could be a problem, there is DNA in re Rundle.
These traveling killers are the hardest ones to trace, but this guy was stupid, he drove Wallace's car from there to Texas? And he took the Napa victim's card and car and got gas here in Sacramento?? Why has this taken so long to unravel??

There is a lot of stuff out there about Melanson, and a little bit of it is contradictory. But one site referred to him as "The Teflon Predator.
It looks like his current sentence is based upon the Wallace case, and was handed down on Sept. 1, 1993. He was supposedly released in 1990 and that is what rekindled interest in finding Wallace's body,
It should be noted that he has denied ever being in Napa, big deal, he has seemingly denied ever being anywhere interesting.
It is possible that he was incarcerated in Texas between 1974? and 1980, but that is just a possibilty. I'm guessing that quite a few agencys are going to pile onto this guy, he might have quite a few secrets.

I'll have to go through the VTD again. I sure didn't see anything. As Portofleith said, I hope they are working the DNA -- and specifically checking it against EAR-ONS.
Now I have hope again! Let's see, we're at 35 years for Snelling's murder.
It's still raining here -- how about where you are? Fresno news just covered up to Merced and down to Bakersfield. I'm sure glad this isn't a week to travel to LA or Santa Barbara, or even west of 198 towards King City.
