I have the summer off from academics so I intend to do osme updates to the site. I have some La Riviera pictures that need to be posted and some other additions and updates I will do when I get a chance between now and late August.
There were a couple of updates I had to make but I have forgotten what they were. I think the articles index or links may have beeen one of them. I'll have to review the whole site when I get a chance.

I just received three newspaper articles about the murders of the Glasby brothers, and the 3d Goleta case which I will post on the site within a week or two. Thanks to kona and A76 for this info. I have long sought detials of these deaths and even contacted the local SB county library, who could not find anything.
Here are key facts from the clippings:
Glasby Murders
Date of Murders: 12 February 1982
Victims: Brett (20) and Brian (21) Glasby
Brian graduated from HS in 1978 and ran a pool business. Brett was a HS dropout who had been kicked out of the Marines after less than a year. At the time of his death, Brett was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear at a Jan 82 arrainment in relation to a drug-related robbery and assault incident in Oct 81 (with 2 other men including his brother Gregg).
Location: El Repchito Beach, Michoacán (not Baja as usually has been cited).
Details: Glasbys drove down in a VW van on 3 Feb supposedly for a 4-5 week camping, skin-diving and surfing trip. The Glasbys hung out with three Mexican men at the beach for several hours, one of whom shot both of them in the evening with a pistol. Their posessions and money were stolen, although the van was left alone. The killers were apparently driving a VW bug.

two days before the Glasby murders (ie 10 Feb 82), an update article appeared in Goleta's weekly local newspaper about the Domingo-Sanchez murders which were committed the previous July (6 months earlier). The article claims that the search for the killer had intensified. The article mentions the creation of a small police task force under a fresh investigator, who was given a two-month deadline to solve the case. Obviously this never happened. I'll have the article posted next week.

Hi JJ, the articles I received note that Brett, and Brian were two of six men charged in the attempted robbery and assault charges. It also notes there were five occupants of the farmhouse that they attempted to rob.
These articles are presently posted on the ae site. Respectfully. G
Begging your pardon JJ, after looking at another article we have, imagine that, two different stories.

actually guessting, the articles provide slightly different accounts. The 19 Feb 82 Santa Barbara News-Press article states "he (Brett) was among six men charged with attempting to rob five occupants of a Goleta farmhouse of marijuana..." The Goleta Valley News article from the next day provides a lot more detail: "At the time of his death, Brett was subject to a bench warrant from the Santa Barbara Superior Court, issued Jan. 26, on felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and robbery, stemming from an Oct 10 where Brett, his brother Gregg and three others allegedly attempted to rob three persons in a Goleta farmhouse..."
Gregg and Brett were cited as one of five or six attackers, robbing either five or three persons. I think the second account is probably more accurate because it provides more details. It'd be interesting to find the trial transcript for the scheduled 16 March trial
Also interesting is that the article from the 10 Feb edition of the Goleta Valley News fails to mention any connection between the 3rd Goleta attack and the previous two, although they had to have already made such a connection because physical evidence connected the three crimes to each other.

Yes jj, you are correct. I am looking into the co-defendants and hopeful I can find an attorney possibly associated with these cases. I must say it all seems very suspicious; as I cannot make a notable mention to any growers/dealers that would risk their own arrest by filing a police report, much less than being willing to testify against these individuals. I feel there is alot of missing pieces to this puzzle. There are a couple of new pieces now that fall into place. I can only say that all experiences point to individuals handling this outside the realm of le, unless????That is the big question? Hopefully we can all work together to fit the remaining pieces to the puzzle. That picture you were talking about might soon be a new piece.

actually, court records are public documents. you just need to find where the Santa Barbara Superior Court archives are and request the documents (that's what The Smoking Gun.com does every day).
as for dopers calling the cops, potential murder trumps drug arrests. but we don't even know if the druggies called the cops. there are many ways the police could have discovered the crime scene. maybe neighbors called about suspicious activity or maybe the cops had the place under surveillance or there was gunfire that alerted the police. A newspaper clipping from right after the crime probably gives better details.

We will find out what really happened soon, In the meantime my source #1 says; who the grower was; a prominent local organic farmer, and who were the probable other rip offs. He conjectures the cops came down hard on B.G. because of gun play. It was stated that Bret had no code among thieves. he was erratic, and all that older brother pounding may have been the motivating meaness seed factor. He was erratic Who Knows? I am waiting to verify names and other links before I release any names. There are interesting characters I am finding out more about. gladsby was suspect #1 one for these goleta crimes. He was said to have been follwed by LE so may be they knew what he was doing all along? Kona

JJMCAR -- the clock seems to be WAY off...at least a 5 hour difference which would be located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
