Well, I see that the A&E board is now getting "re-populated" with all the right type of supersleuths. good, I enjoy a good laugh once in a while, but not on a continuing basis.
They sure got off to a great start. Brooks, first off, that occured in Rosemont, not Rancho. This is an area he never worked in. And we always wondered about that. He never went south of Folsom Blvd. that we ever know of.
Hakari and Bennalack. how can you have it both ways? All the big mouths on the board always insisted that our guy was born around 1960. Hello, a 10 year old killer who could drive almost to Colfax to dump a body?
If someone wishes to talk about those two, why not put Cloer and Hilburn in the mix? Mr. Greysmith sure tried to. but of course there's no suspence there. They already got Phil Boy on Cloer.
Interestingly, Phil was cruising Howe when he came upon Betty. Less than a quarter mile west from Bennalack's apartment. They also said at the time that whoever did Cloer probably did Hilburn. Sadly, they've had five years from the cold hit on Phil to do that.
Bottom line: connect all four dots? Probably not. But yes, Bennalack and Hakari have always been connected in my mind. Then there's the little problem that they always thought that Phil did not work alone.
But bringing Gerald and Charlene into the story? Ho ho. They only met about the time that our guy started up in Sept. 1977. As for the earlier ones? They've probably checked him for those. Easy to rule out, Gerald only had 23 arrests in our county over the years.
Let the children play, its fun to watch....
