I hadn't realized, until reading page 7 of Shen's report on Harrington, that the perp had had a vasectomy.

I've been on A & E long enough that I should know this by now, but when they say EAR, doesn't that mean EAST AREA RAPIST (SACRAMENTO COUNTY); CCC refers to Contra Costa County (Davis, Walnut Creek, etc.?

Why do they say that the DNA matches EAR? Isn't it a match to CCC only?

Guys, this vasectomy thing really bothered me so I emailed Det. Pool. He responded this morning that it was NOT true, Mr. Harrington must have misunderstood or been misquoted. The DNA samples were extracted from suspect's sperm cells.

when they say EAR they mean the 45 rape attacks attributed loosely to the East Area Rapist. These crimes were committed in the East Area of Sacramento County, Sacramento city, Stockton, Modesto, Davis, and in Concord, Danville, Walnut Creek and San Ramon in Contra Costa County and in Fremont in Alameda County (the latter included usually with the CCC attacks).

in the master timeline I only called EAR rapes the crimes that took place in Sacramento County. I called the rest by where they were although I include the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department number for the crime.

Dengas- bingo on the" they say the DNA matches to the EAR." You hear this a lot in this case but in reality only the three Paul holes cases match. The rest are linked osmewhat loosely only by MO.

Of the 45 only three from CCC were matched by Paul Holes to the 6 murders in southern California already linked by DNA. These were in Ventura, Dana Point and Irvine.

Stockton, Modesto, Davis, and in Concord, Danville, Walnut Creek and San Ramon in Contra Costa County and in Fremont in Alameda County (the latter included usually with the CCC attacks).


What bothers me is that Stockton, Modesto are south of Sacramento, & Davis, Concord, Danville, Walnut Creek and San Ramon are all west.

East to me would be the Rancho Cordova, Folsom, Citrus Heights, etc. (the area east of Sacramento proper -- along the American River Parkway.

So, other than CCC DNA, is there any DNA to check against inmates in what I call the EAST AREA of SACRAMENTO? (excluding Davis, Concord, Danville, Walnut Creek)

In my mind, I link the American River Parkway attacks, & Stockton, with Goleta -- and I STILL feel that MS & RB could be your EAR-B.

and of course CCC is linked through DNA to OC -- which is fine with me.

Doctors would only perform a vasectomy on men who have had children before or were married to women who has had several children and do not want anymore. When a man has a vasectomy they usually have their vas deferens cut so sperm from their testicles cannot flow threw the vas deferens into the penis. The operation to put the vas deferens tubes back together again is very complicated and not many doctors on the west coast have the skills to put the tubes back together if the male decides to have kids after a vasectomy. So most likely the ear/ons has had at least one child before the vasectomy.

I just returned from a three week trip to the East Coast...what a joy. NO graffiti and NO trash lining the roads.
