Its possible he was a college student. All the rapes in Sacramento were in an around Folsom blvd and Watt st. Folsom blvd actually is a straight shot to Sac State.

SoCalMik, There are more than coincidental links to the academic calendars in the Sacramento attacks. I studied the dates of the attacks and compared them to the CSUS schedules for 1976, 1977 and 1978. I now believe the academic calendar may have more to do with a girlfriend or fiancee. That might also explain the summer absences. Class Schedule Theory CSUSThe attacks beginning with #22 , begin the significant shift in Ears attack patterns. #22 does seem to be one of his message attacks, since it was out of his usual hunting ground and near the office of the CB'er donating dentist. Friday, May 13, was the last day of instruction at CSUS. That began his frenzy of May 77 attacks(#18-#21) and the big lull of summer of 1977. Then the resumption of attacks commences, beginning with #23 ,the first Stockton 9/6/77, (exactly the first day of class at CSUS). Had he spent the summer working in the Stockton area or just pulled off the road en route from Visalia to study neighborhoods? Then he is jumping all around Sacramento through attack #28(12/2/77). Then we have the lull that ends with resumption of activities that begin with #29- 1/28/78(CSUS class begins on Monday 1/30). The Maggiores murder is 2/2/78 Attack #31(3/18/78) Stockton coincides with the last day of class at CSUS before Spring Break(3/18/78)- another drive home to Visalia? . Then another big lull until June 5(Monday) -( last day of the academic year at CSUS was the Friday before- June 2nd.) Attacks #33-#37(June 1978) parallell the May 1977 frenzy of attacks, except now he is flitting through Modesto and Davis. Had he talked his parents into an extension to look at graduate schools? Then another big lull until 10/7/1978 when he emerges in Concord with #38. I think the CC attacks were all randomized to distance himself from Sacramento. He could have still lived in Ranch Cordova at this point.

I don't understand why the Army is even mentioned. 1013 58th st. is just a California National Guard.. armory. A much larger installation was the Sacramento Army Depot.
I have always had a funny feeling that none of the bases or Sac State were ever properly looked into. And that does include American River College, which was much closer to all of the Northeast area attacks. In fact, the "teenyboppers attack," just prior to the Maggiore's, was less than 1200 feet from the ARC stadium.
Not only that, but he was seemingly looking for a certain student during one of his attacks. Then there was the post or two from a person called "Kneedough." who indicated that their mother was slightly suspicious of one of her students at AR who was ''gone" from classes at certain wierd times.
A point concerning Davis: Davis I was a student, well after classes ended, while Davis II and III were women in their mid-30's, who were slightly aquainted with each other.
There is something about his Davis activities that has always not set right with me. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with UCD itself, but I can accept that.
As far as tying Davis to Stockton, I suggest not in an academis manner. I have always had a wierd feeling that Stockton may have indeed been one of his "bases of operations." Like beginning sometime after Maggiore's. But indeed he may have really been established there earlier, like during the summer of 1977.

I believe he may have been a student at American River College and commuted from Rancho Cordova. I have put the EAR information into calendar form and agree he may have been a student. I lived in Rancho Cordova during that period and attended ARC which was an easy commute. He could have transferred in 1978 fall session to Diablo Valley College in Contra Costa County which would explain the move in attacks.

It should also be noted all of the CSUS 1977 academic calendar matches the dates of EAR attacks and absences. g
