Troy- Thanks for posting this article. The immediate chilling piece of information to me is the friend who said Patty had a strange encounter while taking out the garbage and with a jogger.
The reference to a drug ring, the security guard fired in the previous days, the tragic death of the dog, the presence of fingerprints and Patty's visit to the grocery store all could be pertinent, though it said that LE and the private investigator explored these avenues. I still think the Raley's in Sac nearest to Paseo could have been a hunting ground. It is always stated that the Sac victims had few common bonds, but if you look at the locations, several victims must have shopped at that particular Raley's.
I wish Keith's father had lived to learn it was the work of a serial killer who required no more motive than to destroy beautiful young women and their husbands.

Portofleith, are you able to print out the Harrington article? All I get when I try are the ads.

Port, there is no doubt about that, I don't think you know exactly how close one of the victims was to the store.
What is in doubt is what really happened in that one case pinned to the parking lot.
I've heard some jumbled up stories, and I don't believe anything really happened in the parking lot.
If anything did happen, it occured up the road, and if it really was an unsucessful attack, he stole his target's vehicle and dumped it in the parking lot.
I know that that sounds kinda wierd, but it really does match with the things said years ago on A&E. Especially things by Arch.

Port Yeah the part about the jogger and her being frightened by a stranger when she was taking out the trash stood out to me too. Especially considering what we know now....the EAR-ONS cased his victims and prowled the neighborhoods and in at least one incident was seen jogging away from a crime scene (S/D) I wonder where PH lived before she was married, probably Irvine. hmmm... It's unfortunate that the friends of the Harrington's weren't shown photos of the composites of the EAR-ONS that were on the THS Investigates program. Perhaps someone would've recognized him. Of course there was no connection yet and only faint hint that the Ventura murders might be linked. Not mentioned in this article but in the paper a student wrote that is on jj's site, they asked if PH was involved with macrame, the diamond knot is associated with macrame and interior decor. I dunno if he used the diamond knot in this one but he took the bindings with him so perhaps he did.

Dengas- The pages are "write protected" and can't be printed even using print screen. It's a very interesting article though. Nightdriver- This article suggest that LE did make a connection to the grocery stores. news.google.com/newspapers?id=RlIuAAAAIBAJ&sjid=7NcFAAAAIBAJ&pg=5758,5383678&dq=east+area+rapist&hl=en The google news archives have many Modesto Bee articles that I have not found elsewhere.

Port, I believe that is because that is an ongoing project of Google's.
I've found returns about a nasty murder in Oroville that I had been searching for for four years, but only found about seven months ago.
I'd guess that every crime search that we have done on the web should be redone every month...
