It would be a chore to move to another board. But ...
We do need a moderator. And I have seen no evidence that there is an active moderator here at this pro-board.
Accordingly, I think we need to look seriously at creating a new pro-board. We can stay here until the new board is up and running. Unlike other message board options, "Pro-board" is free, at least that's my understanding. And with a moderator that is friendly to the EAR/ONS topic, we can easily avoid the A&E mess.
To those who worry that a pro-board would not attract people interested in the EAR/ONS case to the extent of A&E, there are ways around that, which we can discuss at later date.
If we can agree that we need a moderated board, then it's only a matter of deciding who among us will create the new board, and who will be the moderator.

I am happy to split moderation duties. My philosophy, as I said previously, is to stay on the right side of legal matters. This is a place for discussion, and as long as we moderate the trolls, and encourage lively debate and sharing of information, I don't think we should have too much of a problem.
I think everyone that posts here now has an interest in this case, and from evidence so far, we are civil to each other, and can debate topics without resorting to abusive behaviour for no apparent reason.

guessting, thanks for the vote of confidence.
However, I really don't want to be the one to create a new board. I don't mind sharing moderator duties on occasion.
Given his location in England, and his everyday work situation, greg would be the ideal person, both to start a new board, and to be the main moderator. Besides, I like his philosophy of staying on "the right side of legal matters".
I thus propose that greg be in charge of setting up a new board. I would be more than willing to help out, in terms of forum options and settings.
Sounds like I'm foisting lots of responsibility onto you, greg. Don't mean to. And obviously you can decline if you choose.
Let us know.

Hello all, I though I'd alert you that the Trolls (yeah we can call them what they are over here) have discovered this board. They said something on the board today that made it clear. Please keep in mind that they are reading this and may even be a newby to the board using a different name. I think we have to be very careful to trust people who were part of our effort for a while and not any newby even if the newby is innocent. We cannot let a moderator have access to our personal information, our personal e-mail accounts etc. I am not a computer expert and don't know how hard it would be for someone to be able to find out our true identities as a moderator. This is the search for a serial killer so we have to be so careful anyway. So please be aware that they are onto us over here.

A new board with an active moderator (hopefully greg) can easily dispense with any and all trolls. Online message boards have been around for a long time. We would not be the first group of people that wanted a forum to discuss a topic without being harassed. When someone creates a forum, he or she can initiate tons of safeguards. A board's creator and/or moderator has a lot of authority to ban trolls and to keep e-mail addresses safe and secure. I know, because I have inquired about same, via telephone calls to various message board host companies. Nevertheless, without an active moderator here, I would feel more comfortable in a new forum, one created and moderated specifically by someone we trust. That gang over at aetv does not hold all the good cards in the deck. I have a few of my own that no one knows about. So relax!  The death blow to the aetv trolls begins with ... never again responding at the aetv board ... never! Cheers, Drifter |

It would be a lot easier if the A & E forums had an ignore feature, but people who argue back and forth with them keep them engaged and happy. Just ignore them.
I think Sandia's concern about moderators having access to IP's and other things is a valid concern. The EAR-ONS board previously had issues with posters spending more time searching for info on other posters than searching for info on EAR-ONS and most of us don't personally know each other.

I used to post of AETV on a different board entirely until that group with Kev came along and made it unbearable. The worst part was that KevtheBoer, San Antonio Girl and Boermeisse were all not allowed to post on the board and yet there was still enough of their influence that my group left and created a private board of facebook that is invite only. We had a person create an account on thier board once and I will tell you the main reason we all had our accounts removed completely from AETV site.
There is no proof of what was said on their site, but it was implied that Rita and the other admin are not only aware and condone the behavior but may actually be members of the TrollDen site. So if they are members of that site and moderators of AETV remember that Rita already has your email's and your IP addresses. That is the main reason my group beleived that Rita was condoning them. If she did an IP ban supposedely as she did to one of our group how did those vile and mean people continue to have different accounts that showed up.
As much as I hate the run and hide method that has occured I just wanted to tell you what we had encountered and that you would likely be better off going somewhere new and make it invite only.
Good luck to you all and continue the good work you are doing. I will likely delete this account on here only becasue I really don't want that other group being able to trace this screen name to one that they previously had. They already pretty much stalked me on facebook.

All,
I am happy to start up a new board. I realise that there are concerns over email / IP addresses, but I can assure you I have looked in to this and these details would be kept secure.
My main aim ( and I am sure it is everyone's ) is to have a moderated board that allows us discussion about the EAR/ONS/GSK that encourages debate about the case, but does not infringe on legal issues. Thus protecting the posters, the board and other people, but most importantly not compromising the case.

To Kpod, They stalked you on Facebook? If you haven't already left, can you elaborate on that? Did they trick you into friending them?
Also there is one instance where I actually did get the feeling that they have read my personal p.m. and I noticed a big change in Rita after I friended Kev to contact him by p.m. and was trying to be nice to him. I have been having the same thought that she is part of the TD?

No they did not trick me into friending them. I wouldn't put it past one of them to attempt to do that though. They have multiple accounts everywhere. They created fake facebook accounts to get onto the public/fan page of our discussion. There were a couple of us from AETV that were on the fan page on facebook as well (including Rita). If anyone posted a comment on the facebook page they came on immediately and started harassing that person. I had not blocked them so I still say them at that time, and I also hadn't made all of my facebook page totally private so they copied and pasted pictures from my facebook and made some very mean comments about my boys. They still do on their site. They go to the pages of anyone that they think is a friend and eiher find pictures to paste on their site or make comments to remind people that they were on their facebook page. Mine is now very private. I also had a twitter account at one time that they found by going to the celebrities twitter and viewing all those that he followed or followed him.
We know have a private group that is invite only and it really only very few of us as we discovered you can't trust anyone it seemed. None of us could actually prove Rita was part of their group but now that some have deleted our accounts on AE and changed email addresses, locked down facebook pages and made it so only a select few are invited the drama is no longer. It really shouldn't have to be like this, but if more people leave AETV maybe they will get the picture. Writing to Rita and the AETVAdmin did not make it better in fact most times it was as if they knew what they said back to us and it would get worse. Always just at the limit of what the rules were. Kev and his girlfriend were not allowed to post on our board even and it still went on with some of the same people and some that I am sure were fake accounts of theirs. I am a Christian woman and my mother taught me to treat all people as I would want to be treated and not judge, but even being a Christian was very hard to do around them. They must lead miserable lives to act as mean and nasty as they do. Karma will come to get them some day.

The old AETV board was the best EAR/ONS board and more exciting than the new one although the new one is good.
